            The pH Connection to Cancer
and everything else!
By Jim LeBeau

What is the biological basis for the pH connection to cancer?  Why is the word “alternative” used to describe the same general concepts most of us think of when we use the word “natural” as in natural healing?

Why is this important? Understanding the difference between “alternative” and “natural” remedies and the pH connection to cancer remedies and all things related to health could mean the difference between life and death.

Don’t count on getting this information from your doctor or the nightly news or even from most web sources. Keep reading to learn exactly why those who have a financial interest in the sick-care industry are counting on you to never understand the simple healing power in what is explained on this page.

Is there an “alternative” to breathing?

Let’s begin with something very basic – breathing. We breathe to get O2 (oxygen) in and CO2 (carbon dioxide) out. If we don’t breathe we turn purple. Then we die. We turn purple because our red blood cells turn dark…no oxygen there, no roses in the cheeks. The O2/CO2 ratio in the blood is critical for our minute-to-minute survival.

What's the most important thing for your health? Oxygen of course.

Blood O2 levels are critical for the minute-to-minute pH balance of the blood that must be maintained at 7.4 at all costs. A perfect blood pH balance is consistent with a healthy blood oxygen level. Oxygen and pH go together, like a horse and carriage. The simple act of breathing helps to keep blood pH at 7.4, a number critical to a thousand or more aspects of body chemistry.

The body knows all of this. That is why it robs alkaline elements from various body tissues like bones and saliva to maintain the critical blood 7.4 pH value. This simple biological truth explains why saliva pH is not only an indicator but also a PRE-indicator of  blood pH stress and health problems on the way...please keep reading.

A few ways to keep blood oxygen levels up are to do regular deep breathing, moving more, or perhaps some Yoga. If you understand the cancer connection to oxygen you could call these "natural cancer therapies".

The Cancer Connection

What happens if the pH control system goes off balance in a major way? Ask Otto Warburg, two times Nobel prize winner. As he injected acid into the bodies of dozens of different species of animals the pH went down and so did oxygen levels. Cells became oxygen stressed. Stress the cells, up goes the rate of cellular mutations. A higher rate of cellular mutations along with lower cellular respiration and lower oxygen levels...up goes the rate of malignant cells - cancer.

From USDA Food and Nutrition Briefs, January 2002 " "Cancer develops in stages. First, a normal cell undergoes mutations".

Now you know why cancer is called a "disease of old age". An acid pH and lower blood 02 levels are also a "disease of old age". Lower pH, lower oxygen, put all cells in the body under oxygen stress, pale cheeks, more cancer...it all goes together. Rosy cheeks of childhood, high oxygen, good health...it all goes together.  What if we could stop cancer at the first stage? What if we could do things to keep 02 levels up both in blood and at the cell level as we get older?

Good news. We can, Millions are doing that right now...but many millions more are not.

Does it make sense to call something as basic as oxygen an “alternative” to something else?  It you are making billions in the cancer industry and you want to keep things in a state of confusion...absolutely.  What if we use a dozen or two natural or conventional cancer remedies or the same for any health problem but miss the pH/oxygen connection? Given what you now know, would that make sense? It would make as much sense as building your house without first putting in a foundation.

If people understood this much they would realize that much of what the media calls “alternative” is no more alternative than taking a breath on a consistent basis.

Please keep reading.  Some of the most powerful healing ideas are the simplest.

The pH Balancing Idea

A major key to understanding the power of pH balancing is that there is a direct correlation between carbonic acid levels in blood and saliva which is directly related to CO2 levels and 02 levels of blood and saliva and all body fluids. This is the big picture.

One of the simplest ideas to stay healthy as you get older is to keep saliva pH in a healthy daily cycle pattern...within a healthy range. As saliva pH goes, so goes blood. As blood goes, so go the cells. As the cells go, so go you.

Given that there is a direct correlation between the pH of blood and saliva and given that it is so simple to do a litmus test to find the pH of your saliva as an indicator of blood oxygen levels, do you know your daily saliva pH cycle pattern?

Is your saliva and blood pH cycling too high, too low, or just right?

Given that you now understand how much your health depends on a blood pH of 7.4 and given the blood/saliva/cancer/health correlations, would it make sense to learn how to balance your saliva pH? What if your saliva pH was not just an indicator but also a PRE-indicator of a blood pH imbalance tendency?

Can you begin to see how big a deal a two cent litmus test of saliva pH might be to your future and a future without cancer and many other diseases related to a pH imbalance?

OH...did I mention that every one of the billions of enzymes in your body…the “stuff of life” according to physiology textbooks without which nothing else can work right…depends on a near perfect pH balance of body fluids in general? This includes body fluids inside as well as outside of the cells (Anatomy and Physiology by Anthony and Thibodeau, 10th Edition, page 496).

Also significant is that the body's most important antioxidant systems - control of free radical by-products of cellular respiration - are enzymes. Some are super oxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, glutathione peroxidase, methionine reductase etc.

The more you look at the background for the chemistry of life...pH...the more you wonder why you weren't taught this before you reached the 5th grade. At least now you can say you are smarter than a 5th grader about pH.

Is pH the only body system you need to balance? No, but but without pH in balance what else can work right?

Is there an “alternative” to water?

Could water have anything to do with blood O2/CO2 ratio and blood pH balance so critical to anything in the body working right including the body’s natural cancer control systems

Lo and behold, the physiology textbooks explain that water is the irreplaceable single component in the universe that works like magic to allow our kidneys to eliminate the many dangerous acids that are produced by our breathing and  by our eating.

Yes…breathing and eating both produce acids. The most common of the acids the body needs to get rid of on a minute-to-minute basis is carbonic acid. This acid is the chemical form that much of the CO2 in the blood takes on the way out from the cells to the lungs (Medical Physiology Chapter 37). It is so important to keep blood levels of this acid under control that two large sets of organs in our bodies have a primary function of getting this acid out of the body second to second and minute to minute and day to day. These are two lungs and two kidneys. One works with air. The other works with water.

Is there an “alternative” to water to help the kidneys eliminate acids so blood pH stays in balance and the immune system stays strong and healthy cells thrive while cancer cells gasp their last dying breath in the presence of oxygen? Is there an “alternative” to a pair of lungs and a pair of kidneys?  Let’s see…how about chemo, radiation, or the knife?

Can you believe this? They fit the definition of “alternative” much better than air, water, lungs, and kidneys.

Let’s agree that it makes perfect sense to call air and water or any therapy that makes air and water work better foundational. There is nothing “alternative” about them.  Now the door is also open to call a whole range of “oxygen therapies” that some “sent home to die” credit with saving their lives foundational.

You can find a whole range of these therapies in a report called 100 NATURAL CANCER THERAPIES. Learn more by going to www.stopcancer.com

What else could be as foundational as air and water for the prevention and treatment of cancer or any health problem?

   How about food?

Is there an “alternative” to food?

Remember that carbonic acid elimination problem that air and water help to fix. Remember the importance of a blood pH of 7.4.

Note this well – carbonic acid is also produced as an end product of the metabolism of two basic food groups - carbohydrates (CHO) and protein (CHON). The chemical name for both food groups has that big C which stands for carbon. That is carbon as in carbonic acid. To this you can add other acids that are metabolic end products of food metabolism such as phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid, nitric acid etc.

Now we see that there are blood acids  produced both by breathing and by eating. Houston, we’ve got a problem here. The acids are piling up. Somehow the body has to deal not only with carbonic acid but many more acids produced by the metabolism of foods. Some are strong acids. Some are weak acids. All are acids. They pile up and up and up. What’s a body to do?

Enter blood buffer systems along with deep breathing and drinking enough water to keep blood pH where it belongs minute-to-minute to protect our bones and our lives.  Dump acids or an alkali like sodium bicarbonate into a bloodstream and the pH hardly moves thanks to blood buffer systems, a phenomenon that physiology textbooks describe with words of wonder and praise.

Without getting into the complexities of blood pH controls suffice it to say that blood buffer systems are nutrient dependent. For example, the amino acid pool in the blood is reported in Medical Physiology to have the important job of doing approximately 75% of the buffering work that needs to be done to keep blood pH close to the critical 7.4 at all times. Where do amino acids come from? Food of course. Do some amino acids support acidity and others alkalinity? Yes. Might the balance of amino acids in foods be affected by food processing...removal of bran and germ from a whole grain of wheat for example or the removal of molasses from sugar cane? Yes again. Do your diet choices have a lot to do with keeping blood pH at a perfect 7.4? Yes again.

Is this all you need to know? No.

What happens if a person does not consume a protein balanced diet? What happens if a person consumes enough good protein but the pH of digestive juices is so off that digestive enzymes are too weak to break the proteins down to the amino acid level for assimilation? What happens if a person makes an innocent mistake year after year of consuming too many foods that leave an acid ash residue...maybe not too many for the short term but too many for the body to compensate for in the long term? Take a guess. It's not healthy.

Other blood buffer systems work with the help of elements like sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. Where do these elements come from? Food of course. All of the thousand or more enzyme systems in the body have an element as a nucleus. Some are major elements like magnesium and zinc and some are minor elements like manganese and germanium...or perhaps "rare earth" elements farmed out of America soils a hundred years ago.

Ah, the plot thickens. Please pass those organic foods and those sea source trace minerals.

What happens if the basic ratios of major elements like sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium upon which blood buffer systems depend are upset by stress, or by unbalanced ratios in processed foods we eat grown on soils with unbalanced mineral ratios because of chemical agriculture over the long term, or some combination of these two?

Imagine the millions of Americans who count on Columbia Encyclopedia and Wikepedia and/or or their doctors or drug companies and the news media in general to help them get a proper understanding of how air, water, and food enter the healing equation when much that is foundational is called "alternative"?

Aren’t you glad you’re not one of them?

Don't tell anybody

SSSHHH – don’t tell anybody about all of this. It could be dangerous to the rates of cancer and other diseases that  many sick-care companies depend on to improve their bottom lines. If word gets out about all of this a healing rash might break out all over.
